BNP Parabas SA (France)
From Recessipedia
On August 9, 2007, BNP Paribas SA, France's biggest bank, froze assets on three investment funds that had capital of € 1.6 billion. The funds had declined almost 20% in two weeks, and the bank froze withdrawals because they could not fairly value their assets due to the growing market turmoil in the subprime market.
