Angelo Mozilo
(former CEO Countrywide Bank)

Former CEO of Countrywide Bank, the leading mortgage originator that was integral in the subprime crisis. Mozilo has been vilified as the poster-boy [1] [2] of the mortgage meltdown. In 2007, his compensation exceeded $100 Million in a year when the company he managed lost over $700 Million and the company stock fell 79%. [3] Mozilo has also generated controversy in Washington for his preferrential loan and mortgage arrangements with prominent politicians, like Christopher Dodd and Kent Conrad amongst others, in a program known as "Friends of Angelo" [4]
